Sends a shiver up your spine, in more ways than one!

I've read some of this author's work on Wattpad, so I knew when I started reading the story to expect the unexpected. This story is neither your typical erotica or your typical vampire story--but it is aptly described as dark erotic fantasy.
The story is short (about 45 minutes of reading time according to my Kindle's pace) so I won't give too much away with a summary, but the main character Elani is not some wilting flower like you might expect when you begin reading. She clearly struggles with the desire she experiences, but she's got a pretty dark and devious side. I like my heroines sassy and sarcastic and Elani definitely knows how to pack a punch; I only wish the story were longer so she could have been developed even further. As for the "hero", Lord Isur is actually a relatively minor character. His presence is ominous and felt from the very beginning, but he doesn't actually appear until the end of the story. While not much time is devoted to him, I suspect from the descriptions the author does give that he is an equally complex character, just waiting to be unraveled.
Since this is the first of this author's work published here, obviously this can be read as a stand alone book, but I imagine there will be more to come from these characters. There's certainly enough depth of background established to support a much more substantial story. So bottom line: well written (none of those grammatical and spelling issues that so often plague these books); unusual, intriguing, and complex characters in spite of the length; dark fantasy with a heaping side of sex.

Supernatural Delight!

To say that this was the most satisfying book I have ever read is an understatement. The flow of the book is superb, it literally has me wanting much more from this brilliant author! I would love to read much more about Lord Isur and her vampire bride Elani this book was addictive.

An erotic vampire story in a historical romance type setting.

This was a really hot story. It is set in a pseudo-past--maybe like regency or victorian times. The heroine is called to meet the vampire Lord to see if she is the woman that can ignite him and make it possible for him to sire children with him. Unfortunately for her, his method of determining this is sampling the ladies, which ruins them socially. When she is invited to a ball to meet him, her family withdraws from her, her fiance drops her, and she knows that the life she had planned will not happen.
This is a really unique setup for a story, and we are even told what will happen to her children if she is chosen. It sounds a bit harsh, but really is original.
The sort of hero (we don't get to know him well, the heroine is the only protagonist) is the vampire Lord. He gets to have sex with the ladies, all of whom are sort of unwilling, but not non-consenting, because their lives are already ruined and their only hope for a good life is to arouse the vampire Lord. There are lots of sexy scenes, and our heroine is quite turned on by the vampire.
If you like vampires and historical romance and hot sex scenes, you'll like this.
