Navigating a New Normal With Foresight, Trust and Compassion

This book is a gem!!!!! Some of us bumble along living in our current reality - while hitting streets signs and bumps that tell us we're on the wrong path - or the terrain has changed. WIthout understanding what to do differently we still stumble, fall and continue on the path. Jim Blastingame has created a profound, easy to read, keenly astute roadmap that brings the future into the present and the present into the future around what it takes to make customers for life!
The Age of the Customer is so beautifully written and clearly articulated - that you will come away seeing, feeling and knowing exactly what needs to change in your relationship with everyone you do business with. It's incredible that so much wisdom lives inside this book. First and foremost is the notion that we need to change our minds and redefine our `customer' as `partner'. Two Thumbs Up for The Age of the Customer

What's a business owner to do in the age of the customer? Jim Blasingame explores how the selling game has changed from a world dominated by the seller to the transitional phase we're in now where the customer is already dominent to an even more customer-dominated a decade or so from now as Blasingame predicts. So what does this mean to me, a small business owner? What's great about the book and why I rate it a 5-star book is because it pushes you to think differently about your business, your customers and the selling process. So Blasingame drills down and provides tips and advice on how to stay relevant and suceed in the new customer age. There are lots of stories, examples, "This will be on the test" words of wisdom as well as specific ideas on how to the selling process is changing, the influence of mobile, and what customers want today. It's easy to read, and if you're a business owner, it's a must read.

When I first encountered The Age of the Customer, it sounded like an exciting futuristic look at an "Age" yet to be. As I began reading I realized that it is an exciting, assimilated study of the here and now: the old ways are rapidly giving way to the fast-moving, ever-changing new ways today. No matter how we may want to cling to the familiar ways of doing business we can't deny the truth of Jim's analysis and guidance. As business men and women we must learn and change in order to stay relevant in today's global marketplace. As Customers, it helps to understand what is happening as new communities are forming around us and new "celebrities" are coming forth almost daily.
