Excellent Resource!

I am a Behavioral Health Specialist (LCSW) working in a community based family practice medical setting in Maine. We are in the beginning stages of working to become a Patient Centered Medical Home practice and I have found this book to be a valuable resource. Considerations are presented in an order and manner that is very useful. I have shown it to many professionals that I collaborate with and used it as a helpful go-to reference. The book contains many ideas for: assessment tools; communication with medical professionals; "marketing" oneself within the practice setting; collaboration efforts and; improving efficiency & effectiveness; working with medical professionals within fast-paced medical settings; etc. This book is very helpful to me as I transition from a traditional psychotherapy setting to the Medical Home model within an outpatient medical setting.

Over the years, I have used many cook books, but since our recent trip to New Zealand, I got hooked onto some of the recipes in Annabel Langbein's cook books. When I got home, I ordered her book entitled The Free Range cook and I have been using it ever since. The recipes are marvelous...easy to follow since there is a conversion page in the back. Her recipe for caramelized onion tarts was my most recent dish and my husband wants me to have it at least once a week. Her easy bread recipe is another winner. Actually, I think most of the recipes are winners. As an extra bonus, her pictures of New Zealand are stunning. I will order this book from Amazon as a gift item for my friends who love to cook.

a terrific horror-fantasy tale for grade schoolers

Thirteen years old Chance Henry says "it started out to be a normal day" in Portland, Oregon. The weeks of rain had stopped and the sun was shining as Holly "Hercules" Whipple whips his butt in basketball again. However before she can humiliate him, he hears the dreaded words "I need your help"; his dad Dr. George Henry curator of the Portland Museum of Eastern Antiquities Museum has paged him again. Like Chance thought earlier this is just a normal day.

However, normal becomes quite abnormal when a light shines from inside a recently acquires sarcophagus. A mummy steps out of a tomb and soon George is wrapped inside the bandages while the creature collapses into a pile of sand. Chance is unaware that the Time of Anubis has begun as Sehti has taken over his father's body while George's soul is drifting amidst the Egyptian Underworld. Chance knows he must somehow save his father so he risks binding some of the mummy's bandages on his arms, trusting that he can keep himself from turning and rescue his father; Chance's friends like Holly and Hayden, and a new pal Blixx help him with his quest.

Targeting elementary school children, this is a terrific horror-fantasy starring a young teen who gains confidence that he had previously lacked while on a dangerous quest to rescue his father and perhaps the world. The story line is filled with action while illustrations enhance the solid plot. Young readers will root for Chance and his trusty teammates as they battle against ancient evil that has returned.

It's a normal day for a normal boy, Chance Henry. School was over and he was playing basketball with his friend, Holly, when his dad, an archaeologist, suggested he wipe off debris from crates to prepare for a museum's new sarcophagi exhibit. Not being the athletic type, Chance was happy to oblige.

As Chance's father reads the text inscribed on the sarcophagi a magical thing happens - the mummy comes to life. This mummy, Sehti, is evil and steals Chance's father to the Underworld. Chance then meets another mummy, Osirius, who weakens Sehti temporarily, causing him to leave.

Osirius is a mummy working for good and wants to stop Sehti. Chance will do anything to get his father back, even if it means turning into a mummy himself. The tape that Osirius is wrapped in is part of a magical Anubis Tapestry, which, when wrapped around Chance's arm, gives him magical powers. Powers he will need to defeat Sehti, survive the Underworld, get his father's soul back, and master the deadly guardians of the Underworld.

I guess Chance Henry isn't as normal as he thinks, is he?

The action begins in the very first chapter. The story moves very fast, and is recommended for younger, reluctant readers.

This book really helps

This book is perfect for beginner who wants to learn about data modeling in RDBMS. This book has good TOC and very easy to find what you want to read.

Very useful tips like "Ask the Experts" section. Very easy to understand when a book comes with step-by-step section. Good examples to show tables and data relationships.

I am new to data modeling in RDBMS but after reading this, I can easily create a small test database with some test data and check out the examples from this book. At the end ...., I say hey..it works!!!

Well worth the time spent

Years ago (20?!) I suffered through a database course (three times, no kidding) at the graduate level and never fully absorbed the data modeling concepts.

This book has cured that. I get it. The examples are simple and concise and easy to follow. The concepts are well thought out and accessible to the willing.

Currently I have to design systems that include database objects and I can already identify things I will need to improve based on the knowledge found within these pages.

If you hang out anywhere near databases then reading Data Modeling, A Beginner's Guide will greatly improve your understanding of your environment.

A good value that I am glad I own. I recommend it without reservation.

So now let me get back to my data modeling tool to finish my Entity Relationship Diagram for my design, and use what I have learned to fix what I broke.
