A must for all gun owners

I discovered Jon's book while it was in the 7th edition so I will compare this book to the 7th edition.
Before I purchased the 7th edition I thought the book was expensive, after reading it I thought the 8th edition was a huge bargain. The knowledge you gain is a bargain at three times the price. Jon is an attorney and his 40+ years of experience is priceless, Florida is very lucky to have him and his books.
Not knowing gun laws is like trying to drive to a new destination without a map or GPS. The 7th edition was extremely informative and I really enjoyed reading it. I expected the 8th edition to merely be an update, but it expanded and a much better read as well. I would grade the 7the edition as A and the 8th edition as A+.
I went to my FFL to pick up a Mossberg 12 gauge with a pistol grip, he told me there would be a 3 day waiting period unless I had my CCW, which I do. The FFL said the law did not make sense, but that was the way it was. The 8th edition fully explains this and many other things. Want to carry or transport a gun in your car legally? Want to mail a gun legally? Want to stay out of jail?
This book is excellent for all these and so much more.

Did you know the book is updated FREE on the web two or more times yearly?

As the author I am often blown away by the fact that folks don't know the book is updated for FREE on my website at least twice yearly, and usually more. You can either read the update, or download it from the link on the homepage in either pdf or Word -- so that everytime a law changes, is added, or something important happens -- it will hit my blog within two weeks, and be integrated into the free update within usually four weeks. I was the first author to do that, and to my knowledge -- I'm still the only one out there regularly doing that. Because laws, regulations, and case law change so often -- it really is critical for folks who want to keep out of trouble to check up on the website a few times yearly. It's free! Likewise, you should know that every time the book is reprinted, prior updates are incorporated into the print version -- which is why the free updates are cumulative. New editions come out about every four years -- and when they do -- the older edition is still supported in updates for an additional 18 months, although a new edition means there were major changes, and your book really should be replaced if you want to be current. I strive to make this book the showcase for all others of its kind -- and freely answer email questions to my website on legal and firearm issues -- with the understanding that you've "read the book" before you do so. I want this book to continue to be the undisputed leader in its field -- and continue to earn the respect of instructors, courts, and law enforcement both Florida and Federal. It is "the bible" on Florida firearms, weapons, and self defense laws. Thanks for all your support.

A must have for every Florida gun owner

This book translates into plain English everything that you need to know to be in compliance with the law. I especially appreciate the addition of basic information for neighboring states.
I only wish that there was an Ebook version that I could have on the Kindle app on my phone with my highlights and annotations easily accessible for reference without having to carry the 300+ page paperback around.
