Con un inicio fant�stico, nos adentramos en una historia que nos hace reflexionar profundamente sobre las decisiones que tomamos y hacia d�nde nos llevan. Amor y drama son los principales ingredientes de esta novela que te llevar� a preguntarte si esta es la vida que realmente quieres vivir.

Wow, what a great novel! I loved it, one of the best that I've read in recent years. It has an intricate and clever plot, and it is written in a pleasant style with a nice construction for its telling.

I don't want to reveal any specifics of its plot, so I'll just say that I think that readers who liked the films Run Lola Run, Sliding Doors, or "El laberinto del fauno" also would very much enjoy this story. In fact, I think "La vida que no eleg�" would make a good feature film.

This review is to let you know even if you are a student still in school or an adult needing to understand the process of using Google Drive, this is the book to use. The ease of each chapter is a basic step by step how to and guide to allow you to complete a hands on approach and to retain what you have just performed. I recommend this to anyone whom could be a little apprehensive in trying out something different from what they are accustomed to. The help you will obtain from using this textbook can be explained to your students or family member struggling to get with the program, if you know what I mean.

About the Author

Bill McCarty is a Professor of Information Technology at Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, California. Bill is also the author of over fifteen technical books and numerous papers and presentations. He serves as editor of the Honeynet Files department of the journal IEEE Security and Privacy, and directs the Azusa Pacific University Honeynet Research Project, which is affiliated with the Honeynet Project's Honeynet Research Alliance. Bill has briefed members of US organizations such as the CIA, DISA, FBI, NASA, and NSA, and non-US organizations such as the UK's CESG and GHQ, on his honeynet research. He has worked with the FBI to prevent and detect computer crimes.

Not so good

This book is dated, so if you're looking for details on 2.6 kernel implementations you're going to be disappointed. Worse still, the book doesn't cover distributions that don't already have SELinux support. Overall I found the discussion of the theory of SELinux to be good, but implementation details were sorely lacking. Ultimately it didn't answer the questions I had (how do I install SELinux on Mandriva and configure it) so wasn't worth the price.

Good Introduction but lacks advanced, how-to information.

Personally, I prefer books to focus either concepts or detailed implementation instructions not both. For complex topics like SELinux, you typically cannot fit the conceptual and pragmatic within one book. McCarty's SELINUX is no exception. SELINUX provides an excellent overview of concepts but struggles with policy implementation methods and procedures. I suspect the topic is simply too large for one volume. What implementation advice presented is clear and concise but you will have to search elsewhere for more detailed deployment advice.

Despite these issues, this book is recommended reading for anyone considering implementing SELinux. The conceptual overview is some of the best I've seen since SELinux got its start. Using charts, diagrams and examples, McCarty presents an excellent overview of the nuts and bolts of SELinux. Understanding the principles of Role-Based Access Control, Type Enforcement, and Security Objects is critical to both using SELinux and justifying its use. The latter may be a bigger hurdle than many anticipate. The chapters on these areas will arm you with sufficient understanding to make a clear case of why SELinux can and should be implemented in many Linux-based computing environments.

While there are brief examples throughout, the book's third chapter on SELinux installation presents a well-documented, step-by-step guide to installing SELinux. If you've never installed SELinux, these sections will prove very valuable. With clearly numbered steps and command line examples, you can have SELinux installed and configured with a default policy within an hour.

As a mix between the pragmatic and conceptual, SELINUX is a good start on this topic. Entry level SELinux users will probably not learn too much from this book, but if your are looking for a introduction to SELinux concepts along with some pragmatic advice for getting started, then this book may be for you.

Every Linux person could use this book

Bill McCarty has done a top notch job of explaining Security Enhanced Linux as well as the security model itself. I've attempted so many time to "get it" about SELinux and not until I read this book did it make sense.

Bill's organization of the material makes a huge difference. He breaks the subject down into easily understandable chunks. The reader can follow the simple road until everything makes sense. And, SE Linux does make sense. It should be implemented everywhere.

Another thing compelled me to get this book -- it's size. This is a relatively small book. I remember thinking that I could read it without spending two weeks in a study mode. I was right about that. I read it in quick order.

I especially like O'Reilly books. I aslo like Bill's editor, Andy Oram. With the two of them collaborating, you're going to get an interesting book, topics that flow well and a professional product worth much more than the list price.

Definitely should get these if have the book

Purchased these CDs after having purchased the book alone, thinking I might not need them. Can easily step through each question for each of the reviews at the end of major sections in the book. If you haven't purchased the book yet, I'd recommend getting the book with the CDs. If you already have the book, but not the CDs, this has been helpful. Don't skip the "ear training" sections - it's literally a necessary part of any music.

Perfect every time

No you don't have to buy the CDs in order to do the ear training. If you buy the teacher's addition all of the musical examples are listed there for you to play yourself. And of course you can always make up your own examples- as long as you correct your students work accordingly. However, you will be missing some great expansion to your teaching without them. I love the fact that different instruments are used throughout. So your students get the benefit of an expanded pallet of sound. As a teacher I don't even own all the instruments used to be able to replicate that part. Secondly, the CD is well recorded, clear and very conscise. It is easy to follow and understand. All the tempos used are just right. There is very little room for misunderstanding. As a teacher I like the fact that it's one thing that I don't have to think about. I just push play and concern myself with the student(s). Not only that, taking myself out of the equation allows for complete consistancy between classes and students. I don't ever have the problem of a bad day or an off day or a mumbling unclear moment. Everything is set and perfectly on every time.

Huge jump between Book 1 and Book 2

I am a former public school music teacher and now private piano instructor. I am very happy with what is covered in this book, but it is MUCH more advanced than Book 1. Keep this in mind if you have students who have worked through Book 1 and are ready to move on. If they aren't ready to put some real thought and study in to this new material, it will be way over their heads. I'd suggest teacher-chosen worksheets to cement what they've learned in Book 1.

Aristotle, great Greek philosopher, researcher, reasoner, and writer, born at Stagirus in 384 BCE, was the son of Nicomachus, a physician, and Phaestis. He studied under Plato at Athens and taught there (367–47); subsequently he spent three years at the court of a former pupil, Hermeias, in Asia Minor and at this time married Pythias, one of Hermeias’s relations. After some time at Mitylene, in 343–2 he was appointed by King Philip of Macedon to be tutor of his teen-aged son Alexander. After Philip’s death in 336, Aristotle became head of his own school (of “Peripatetics”), the Lyceum at Athens. Because of anti-Macedonian feeling there after Alexander’s death in 323, he withdrew to Chalcis in Euboea, where he died in 322. Nearly all the works Aristotle prepared for publication are lost; the priceless ones extant are lecture-materials, notes, and memoranda (some are spurious). They can be categorized as follows: I. Practical: Nicomachean Ethics; Great Ethics (Magna Moralia); Eudemian Ethics; Politics; Oeconomica (on the good of the family); Virtues and Vices.

II. Logical: Categories; On Interpretation; Analytics (Prior and Posterior); On Sophistical Refutations; Topica.

III. Physical: Twenty-six works (some suspect) including astronomy, generation and destruction, the senses, memory, sleep, dreams, life, facts about animals, etc.

IV. Metaphysics: on being as being.

V. On Art: Art of Rhetoric and Poetics.

VI. Other works including the Athenian Constitution; more works also of doubtful authorship.

VII. Fragments of various works such as dialogues on philosophy and literature; and of treatises on rhetoric, politics and metaphysics. The Loeb Classical Library� edition of Aristotle is in twenty-three volumes.

Useful for the specialist and the student

Like most volumes in the Loeb series, the emphasis is not on word-for-word precision in the translation, but on acheiving greater readability in broader terms. Since the original text in ancient Greek is provided on the facing page, the editors assume that anyone with a little knowledge of Greek can supplement the looseness of the translation by referring to the original. And in general, the compromises made in this way are good ones throughout the series. Tredennick's translation may be a little too loose, and also given over to some unfortunate jargon that can distort Aristotle's meaning. But even so, this is still a very useful text for the specialist or the student.

I bought this book expecting to get know who Aristotle was, where he came from, etc.; typical biographical info., instead I got to know how he thought. The author does an amazing job of explaining Aristotle's philosophy. Anyone can read this book and come away with a better understanding of Aristotle, the University professor or the layperson.

Good theoretical treatment

A nice rigourous treatement of concepts of probability. What is missing is a formal treatment of vectors (general case for random variables).
Many proofs are supplied as well as some good examples. There are also some appendices on combinatorial analysis and set theory.

The AZW format is useless for Mathematics

The Kindle edition is dreadful!!..The AZW format is useless for Mathematics. I think that Amazon should warn about the great differences between the Kindle edition (very bad) and the paper print edition.I have purchased the Kindle edition and compared it with the printed edition, and I found big differences (in the mathematical symbols at least), the mathematical symbols are very much smaller than the letters of the literal part, the index of mathematical formulas very very small, impossible of understand in many cases, (this situation is very dangerous in understanding a mathematical formula) the mathematical symbols "out"of the line of writing, etc...very ugly. So far, pretty good

I just recently got this book based on a recommendation, and so far it has been pretty useful. Specifically, I like the fact that the author deals with real world type concerns, not the perfect world scenarios that are sometimes described in documentation.

The only bad thing I've come across so far, and obviously no fault of the author, is that the size of some of the diagrams is small and hard to read, especially some of the text labels.

Isabella Lilias Trotter (1853–1928) was an artist and a Christian missionary for over 38 years to the Muslims of Algeria. She wrote several books illustrated by herself, including Parables of the Cross, Parables of the Christ Life, and a book for Sufi Muslims The Way of the Sevenfold Secret. First published in a periodical, and later as a booklet, "Focussed" inspired Helen Lemmel to write of the now famous hymn "The Heavenly Vision" (often referred to by the first line of its refrain, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus").

A small book with a big message...

This is a wonderful book - short but really full with wonderful analogies regarding nature and the Christan life. It requires careful reading but it is worth the effort to hear the author's heart as she weaves her observations of nature with powerful spiritual truth. She reinforces the need for all Christians to "die so that we may live" and exalts Christ to the highest place... I really loved this book!

FYI: If you are looking for a book that contains colorful and very beautiful reproductions of L. Trotter's art, this really is not the book you are looking for...this books contains some of her sketches but they are basically there to reinforce her message and not for their own sake... If her art is what you are looking for, "A Blossom in the Desert" compiled and edited by Miriam Huffman Rockness is a beautiful book - Blossom in the Desert: Reflections of Faith in the Art and Writings of Lilias Trotter

A great Classic, I originally read it in french

Wangrin is just a portrayal of the african subject playing the colonizer's game against his opponents. It is the definition of a real man that do not let religious poison take over his mind, even though he lets his indigenous beliefs lead him to ruin when he is at the apex of his glory. The same beliefs that took him to the top led him to see himself vulnerable toward the end of his life. Very smart guy with a sharp mind and understanding of human relations.

A True and Rich Fragment Of Africa

Despite what the Editorial Review says, this is not a work of fiction. This is the exact account of Wangrin's life through the words of Wangrin and those who knew him. This premise might seem preposterous - but not accepting this takes almost the whole value of the book. And accepting the fact that it is a biography, despite all the unbelievable african lore in it, is very important in order to assimilate the great lesson of this work.

Had I not been to Mali, and talked with the people (the real people, not the ones that dwell outside hotels, ong's headquarters and all the places where the presence of white people destroy local culture) and seen what I saw, I would read this very review and call it's writer either naive or stupid. But since I was lucky enough to go there (and many might perceive it without going there), I can perceive Hampat� B� not as a writer, or a storyteller, but as a humble and powerful messenger of his own astonishingly rich culture.
